Meredith Stimson O'Connell, Owner & Trainer
Meredith Stimson-O’Connell, head trainer of Madison Show Stables, has over 15 years experience in top hunter/jumper show barns. Many of her students have successfully competed in all three rings with focus on the jumper ring. She prides herself in top class care and training. Meredith competed in the junior jumpers and big eq in her junior years until she gained her professional status in 2003, bringing along her mare Madison Avenue to compete in open 1.35m jumpers as a pro. Most recently, Michelle Mancini’s horse Unique, is next in line to take her place.
You will occasionally find Meredith featured in “Warmbloods Today” and also “Equine Journal” writing short pieces on training questions asked by readers.
In addition, Meredith has prepared Grand Prix horses for prestigious competitions such as WEF, Fidelity Jumper Classic, Spruce Meadows and Kentucky National Horse Show and currently trains in Wellington FL and Stockton NJ with Grand Prix rider Schuyler Riley.
Haley Bell, Assistant Manager & Head Groom
Haley Bell has been employed by Madison Show Stables for about two years now. She is a recent Cazenovia College graduate with a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Management with a Specialization in Equine Business Management. During her time at Cazenovia she was a part of the Varsity Hunter Seat Equestrian Team and captain for three of the four years. Throughout her junior years through catch riding and leases, she has successfully competed in all three rings, but now her interest has sparked in the jumper ring. As the assistant of the MSS Team you will find Haley aiding in not only the barn managing responsibilities but also managing while travelling to horse shows.
Renee Sandwick, Intern
Renee Sandwick interned for Madison Show Stables this summer. She worked hands on in the barn and traveled to horse shows, studied the management aspects as well as updating the social media portion of the business. She is working toward her degree, Bachelor of Professional Studies in Management with a Specialization in Equine Business Management from Cazenovia College. She has previous show experience in the hunter and equitation ring.
